A year in the making: we hit the GO Button on Life Simple.

A year in the making: we hit the GO Button on Life Simple.

This unique offering hits the market to offer a fast and affordable starting point for Kiwis who are seeking life cover for the first time. I call it NZ’s life insurance starter kit. What makes it different?

It’s fast
I think seeking advice is extremely valuable, But so often we seek life insurance for the first time during the busiest times in our lives. It’s the first house, first child or large pay increase that triggers us into action. Life Simple gets your foot in the life insurance door without sacrificing quality or ruling out the option to get advice in the future when life allows it. Simply check if you are eligible, see what you can get in your starter kit and how much it costs in minutes, if not seconds.

It’s affordable
With a quick search for discounted life insurance online the best you’re likely to find is a 30% cash back offer. Life Simple isn’t cash back, it is a 10% discount on the premiums for the life of the policies. If you take cover that cost $1000 per year would you rather get $300 back in year 1 or save 10% every year? Say you take up the life insurance starter kit at 30 where you’re likely keep the covers in place until 50, and you'd save approximately $8000 in premiums.

Quality range of products
I have carefully selected the core products needed to make up NZ’s life insurance starter kit which will cover Life, Trauma (sometimes called Critical Illness) and Income Protection with the right insurer - Asteron Life. They offer:

  • Life Cover which pays a lump sum in the event of terminal illness or death

  • Trauma Cover that covers of 46 serious medical events with a lump sum

  • Income Protection that could continue paying you monthly benefits right through to retirement age of 65. Most importantly that Income Protection pays you where ACC doesn’t (non-accidents most likely an illness) and if ACC does pay you still receive the full benefit. This mix of is in my mind the ideal starter kit for kiwis.

 The goal
About a year ago I wrote and posted a blog about NZ’s underinsurance problem. Kiwis are not getting cover in place and our Facebook feeds full of givealittle page links tell us a lot. By being fast, being affordable and delivering quality Life Simple has the potential to make a serious dent in our underinsurance problem.

The Catch
This isn’t one of those 2am infomercials screaming “there isn’t any” with flailing inflatable tube-men. There is a catch, I have restricted the availability to this offer to make sure the products I selected benefit those who take up this offer. That’s why it starts with an eligibility check.

If for example… you are self-employed, then tax deductible premiums may suit better. If you already have cover in place you may end up paying for two policies where you can only make a claim on one. If you meet the eligibility criteria I can stand by the quality of this offer, if you are not eligible I recommend you seek advice as your circumstances mean you need it, so give me a buzz.

I am extremely proud of what we have achieved here and I still truly believe Life Simple can be part of the solution of NZ’s underinsurance problem. Check it out, protect yourself and the ones you love www.lifesimple.co.nz
